Mackerel Sky has carried Carly Wright’s jewelry since the day we opened in 1990. Carly’s combination of matte enamel and oxidized sterling silver is informed by rock formations: fractures in a cliff face, the stacking of rock to build ancient dwellings, with the oxidized sterling silver implying slate and the enamel perhaps glimpses of water or sky. Little pieces of sculpture, tiny metal landscapes, this work continues to resonate with us and Carly’s style of making is distinctively her own. |
